Cosmetic bonded restorations are made from a tooth-colored composite plastic material. They can be used simply as white fillings in front teeth or in a more detailed procedure in directly placing a composite veneer. There are no outside lab procedures. Cosmetic bonding is a single visit in which the composite material is directly "bonded" to your existing tooth structure. Usually, minimal anesthesia is needed. Dr. Mastrostefano uses cosmetic bonding as an alternative to porcelain veneers to close spaces, replace worn enamel, repair chipped teeth, reshape crooked teeth, or to cover discolored teeth.
